Why I write: I used to write because I wanted good grades at school, but as controversial topics pop up here and there, I always find myself wanting to share my opinion, to have a voice. That’s when I truly started writing. I write not because I want to express my emotions, but because I want to share my opinion and views of this cruel world we live in today. Even though I may not be the most convincing writer yet, I am determined to get to a point where readers will be inspired by my ideas.

Walking through the school gates on the first day of school, when I noticed a young 6th grader slumping drowsily towards their classroom. The kid’s eyes are half-closed, and he seemed like on the verge of falling asleep. As I watched, I heard a loud BANG: he crashed into a nearby pole.
